What's the best way to go from blue/black hair to platinum?

i have curly hair and i'd love to go platinum, but i do a lot of dying, straightening, etc.. how could i go to platinum without going bald?

They say that if you're going more than 3 shades lighter you should go to a professional to have it done. Seeing as you're going from one extreme to the other, I'd have a pro do it so you don't end up with something scary.

You can bleach it. You can go to any beauty supply place and get a hair stripping agent.

If your hair is black now, you are going to have to wait til it grows out to re-dye it platinum. Black is permanent and won't come out.

I would go see a professional colorist. I would check around with friends and other people to get several refences also. That's a major change and may take several steps so as not to cause severe damage and loss of hair.

its probably best to go to a pro but if you really want to do it your self i can help..... since you have dark dye in your hair already you need to remove the color they make one i believe its called effirsol and there is another one simply called color remover you can get it at Sally's or your local beauty supply you have to mix it with peroxide i would use a 30 or 40 to get the color out after the color is removed your hair will be very dull but you should buy a semi-permanent color just for a few weeks it dies no damage to your hair a good brand is kiss, adore or jazzing by Clairol you need this because you don't want to over process if you want your hair to look healthy you should wait at least two weeks before bleaching after the color remover and when the 2 weeks is up you need a protein filler also at the beauty supply store and then pick you the color you want and dye it you should also use a shampoo called porosity by Revlon for the two weeks in between this is to fill in the pores in your hair so the color will be more uniform....good luck

you'd have to go one step at a time. First with a more natural approach to lighten it. Then you'd have to bleach it, but DO NOT do it in one day. Do a little bit one day, A little bit next. Once your hair fully bleached or blonder, then dye it platinum. You won't go bald.

Bad news...

You can try, then you will cry.

Let it grow. Pigments in Black and Blue/Black are the most permanent. As a matter of fact those tints are the only actually permanent colors that red hair can be dyed due to the odd folicle structure which releases even other permanent dyes in about a 30 day period.

I know this is what you want so here is an option. By the way, your hair will turn orange if you try to bleach it from black, this is not a myth. Let it grow, to grow faster you can take prenatal vitamins. It will speed up to about 3/4 of an inch per month instead of 1/4 - 1/2 inch per month.

Look at short pixie cuts, Mariska Haggarity has nice stlyes that are long in the front and shorter in the back. Pink has great short hair styles too. After your black is gone, bleach it with 40 vol peroxide from Salley's Beauty Supply. Quick Blue is a popular bleach but you should ask someone there which would be best. Don't forget you need to then switch to a Shampoo and conditioner that are for blonde hair that needs extra moisture. When you are bleached, you don't have to worry about fading--you have no color left. You watched it run down the drain of your sink if you bleached it. You have to worry now about retouching, etc. Ion Conditioner has what you need to moisturise on a regular basis, use like 2x a week after desired result.
