Hair coloring for dark hair?

I have dark brown hair and I want to add cobalt blue but whenever i try (even with permanent die) It washes out. Do you know any brands that stay with dark hair and do they need a special shampoo? Also, would I have to lighten it first?

I did mine flourescent green once. It was spiked. :)

You WILL need to lighten your hair first, in order for the cobalt blue to show up brilliantly.

For best results, condition your hair heavily for a day or two, before adding the blue.

yes go to your local salon or beauty supply store and they will give you what you need to first lighten it, THEN apply the dye. because you hair is darker it wont take the dye w/o first applying another dye first
