my hair is dyed dark brown, i've dyed my hair a lot, so its still kinda dryed out. I was thinking of putting a streak in my hair, like a crazy color i was pink or blue. Would i have to bleach my hair? and will it dry my hair out more than it already is?

HI i am an hairdresser and to put pink or blue or anyother clour you will have to bleach it first and if your hair is dry now i would not recomend doing it as your hair might snap off. just wait a few months keep conditioning it and no more clours and have e few trimes and then you shopuld beable to put it onxx

well u can just bleach the parts where the streaks will be at but for dry hair u should use bio silk it works well 4 my hair cuz i 2 dye my hair alot

I wouldnt recomment doing it yourself.

Yes you have to bleach the piece 1st then add the color in it in, since your hair is dark i would go with a hott pink..that would be pretty or purple your even turquoise

hey been there b4..pink probably wouldnt ake over the dark brown ..try a blue..make sure its permenant.if you go to a beauty supply store ou can find some pretty intense colors..i wouldntbleach ur hair ull make ur hair fall out..good luck

They make this stuff that you can wash out. I think L'Oreal makes it. You can also go to Sally's Beauty Supply.

But if you have your heart set on getting something more permanent, I suggest you do a deep conditioning treatment first. ION I think makes one that works really good, again @ Sally's you can buy just one use worth.

you might want to use a protein treatment before and after you dye or bleach because if it is really damaed sometimes the bleach can fry your hair literally. try alterna's caviar

Yes you would have to belach your hair first. A crazy color like pink or blue would not show up on dark brown. The only thing that would show up would be a pinkish darkbrown or blueish dark brown in the sunlight.

And yes, if your hair is already drying out from regualr dying, bleaching would speed it up.

And tinkerbell, I was a hair dresser before becoming a med student.

Your hair wouldn't SNAP OFF from bleach. If you REALLY were a hair dresser, you would know that's a myth.

Try a temporary extension for a crazy color streak.
