Hair colours to suit my skin tone?

Someone said to me just a moment ago that the hair colour i choose should suit my skin tone.

In light of that i'm asking this question.

I'm mixed [West African, Middle eastern and English] so you can probably come to an assumption about my skin tone [if not the it's somewhat caramel i guess.

My natural hair is black, i'm keeping the top black and simply dying the underneath and perhaps some of the fringe [US -bangs]

I want a bright colour dyed on the underneath of my hair, like a vibrant red, purple, electric blue or blonde etc.

But, would colours like those suit my skin tone?

Does it matter when it's unnatural colours like these?

Just asking for opinions on the matter.

I might just go ahead with the colouring despite advice given because i'm experimenting.

But anyway,

Red! Most deffinately.

I'm mixed too, and I have a caramel-ish skin color and I had red highlights this summer.

They looked amazing.

I think as long as you keep a natural looking color on the top you could dye whatever color you want on the top. Have fun with it. Because the hair on top is what's framing your face anyways

Maybe it'll be better if it looked natural. Unless you really wanna stick out and be noticed in the crowd, go for the wild colours ;)

go with a plum-purple for underneath........my friend dyed her hair a plum color by herself (she used those L'oreal vibrant colors thingys) and it looks totally awesome. she has the same skin tone and hair color as you too...except she's Phillipino. it sounds weird but looks really cool on. and besides, it's temporary, so it'll wash out.

I think that you should go with your eye colour im assuming its brown but its probably a variation like mine have yellow in my brown eyes, but when you dye your hair the same colour as your eyes or highlight it the same like i have had done your eyes really start to glow and everyone will compliment you and it just brings out your skin tone more!

I wouldn't go for the wild colours if they dont suit your personality, which i dont know so they really could look good on you i would advise teal which is a bright blue/green or maybe red or purple or even pink but pink may look trashy.

I think that you should get magenta streaks put it. I have just had some put in and it looks really vibrant, go for the foil though.
