Parents think my hair is trashy?!?!?

I recently put some blue streaks in the bottom layers of my hair

and they think it looks trashy

personlly i like it

and think its cute

infortunally being 15 doesnt give me the "right" (according to my parents) to do whatever i want to MY hair

they want me to get it dyed out or something

so,

1: do you agree with my parents

2: what can i do to convince them to let me keep it i mean its gonna wash out in a couple of months anyways?

I think it looks great, unfortunately, my opinion won't matter to your parents.

Just explain to them as calmly as you can that it will wash out, promise you won't do it again. Acting like a child will make them treat you like a child, so be as adult as you can about it, and if they still won't let you keep it, do as they say.

I had the same problem when I was younger, I had to wait until I was 18 and out on my own before I could do everything I wanted to do to my hair. Sometimes you just have to learn to deal

It looks fine-u just want to be different-I always wanted to be unique when I was 15. At least u don't look like a freak-tell them if it's not out in a week, you'll dye it out.

i dont think its trashy. you just need to convince your parents and tell them you are trying to be different not trashy. tell them you are classy not trashy! it might work cus im 15 too and i know how you feel

I like it, its fun! Its not like crazy intrusive either! You're parents are rather strict, eh?

To be honest, they feed you and give you a place to live, so until you're on you're own, you unfortunately do have to listen to them.

Personally, I like unnatural hair colors. But sometimes it does look trashy on some people.

I guess parents are used to the believe that people who do dye their hair funky colors are trashy, but it's so common today.

1. Well...no....it's not trashy...o_O and it's your hair...you have the "right" to do WHATEVER you want with your hair. They can control your curfew and other things but if something belongs to you then it's not their right to say what you can and cannot do to it.

2. I don't know...i usually ignore my parents when they say something about my hair and clothes...

Make a compromise with them... offer to help out more/ get good grades whatever.

Tell them looks aren't everything and calmly explain that you are just trying to express yourself or something.

You have to convice your parents like getting someone to say your hair looks good in FRONT of your parents...the sudden change in your parents may be cuz pf care and worry about thie daughter...they want their daughter to be the best.

I am 35 and I don't think it is that bad. There is a lot worse out there. I actually like pink better, but just my opinion. I am guessing your parents are somewhat close to my age. The problems is that back in our day, when people had colored hair like that, they were considered really edgy, almost punk and it was a really rebellious thing to do. Your parents don't understand that it isn't like that anymore and they are scared for you. A lot of the kids who wore there hair like that back in our day also drank and partied and did drugs. You just need to explain to your parents that now it is more of a trendy thing as opposed to a rebellious thing. As are tattoos and nose piercings. They are considered cute and not really all that edgy anymore. I predict that in a year we will be seeing these colored streaks all over the place and then they will go out of style like everything else. And when you are 40, you will look back and think "I can't believe I did that to my hair." Kind of like me and waterfall bangs!!

I completely understand how your parents feel because if I didn't understand the trend, i wouldn't want my daughter to hame them either. Just try to explain it to your parents and if they still don't like it, just wait for them to wash out and don't do it again. It won't be too many more years before you are out on your own and can do whatever you want!

I was a kid once. My parents hated that I had hair down to th middle of my back...Now I am a parent of a 20year old ...do I stop him from being him...no....do I object to his clothes yes.... but I do not stop him from being him. You have a right to be you and express your self. Maybe just remind them of what thay did when they were young... and how thier parents (ask your grandma) reacted.

But one thing. Please think before doing anything and remeber that your parents are older and most likely are trying to get you to avoid the pains and mistakes they went through. Iknow I am a guy and its my son but that does not matter in this case. The point is the same.
