Bleaching vs stripping hair colour question...?

i have dark brown hair naturally/ i want to bleach a few streaks into my hair and then dye those streaks a light blue. i tried bleaching the streaks in and they wouldn't get as white as i need them to for the colour to take the way i want it to. they just turned sort of orangeish. does anyone know what i can do to get the streaks to the white colour without my hair breaking off? is stripping it the answer? and is it okay to do after i bleached it? or should i try to bleach them one more time?

Go to a beauty supply store, such as Sally Beauty Supply, and ask for a bleach that "lifts 8 levels of color, or more". That should be strong enough to get all of the color out in one application. Most normal bleaches remove only 4 to 6 levels of color -- not enough for your situation

i recommend speed bleach ;although the name is contradictory ,it does work well and it really wont harm your hair it is just;the name that is silly considering it isnt speedy excuse that simcolon i'm too lazy to redo this 'anyways it works well i use it on my patrons and the outcome is alway great love

When using bleach you must be careful!! Over processed hair breaks off! Wait at least one week before trying again with chemicals. Next, I suggest you do a strand test. That means take a strand from underneath that you can cut off and use to experiment on.I also recommend that you bleach and then add the tint/color you want it to be.

Check out some sites for Loreal Preference-they will give ya more precise advice.

it's pretty doubtfull that you will ever reach the white stage with bleaching because your hair is so dark sorry to say..too much bleach, especially powder will make your hair mushy and break off..speaking from experience..

unfortunately you don't sound like you have the hair that will go "white", the flip side to this is too, even if you do manage to get your hair white enough through a double bleaching process (if it does not just snap off) it will be very porous and your blue will not hold very well anyway and you will be "topping" it up always. If it is blue you must have and it is just a phase you are going thru, try some hair mascara, it is not permanent, but it will not damage your hair, and if you get over blue there is an large colour range in the mascara's. Best of Luck :)

Please do not ever strip your hair, i have had this done and it took my hair almost 1 year to recover.
